1. This website
This marketing website (tuppence.ai), run by Tuppence AI Ltd, sets two cookies, and only when you ask it to:
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
tuppence_region | Set when you choose the United Kingdom, the United States or Europe with the region and language switcher. It remembers which version of the site to show you (US prices and terms, or UK or eurozone ones), and the dashboard’s sign-up reads it to start in that region. It holds only gb, us or eu. | 1 year |
tuppence_lang | Set when you choose a language with the same switcher, or a region that has more than one (the eurozone). It remembers which language to show you, such as en or de, and holds nothing else. | 1 year |
They are strictly necessary to give you the version of the site you asked for, so they are used only to provide the service you asked for. Without them, the site shows the version for where you appear to be, and the switcher always lets you change it.
The site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, loads no third-party scripts, and stores nothing else on your device using local storage or similar technologies. Our fonts and images are served from our own site.
If you register or use the contact page, the details you type are sent to us to handle your request, as described in our Privacy Notice. The same goes for the waitlist. No other cookie is involved.
2. Dashboard and pay pages
The Tuppence dashboard, the browser till and our hosted checkout, pay and booking pages use only what is strictly necessary to work securely and remember choices you make. We do not use any of it for analytics or advertising.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
tpx_did | Cookie (HttpOnly, first-party) | A random identifier for the browser you use the dashboard from, so that, to prevent fraud, we can recognize accounts run from the same device. Scripts can’t read it, and it is sent only to the dashboard’s API. | 2 years |
tuppence.session | Local storage | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard. Signing out removes it. | Until you sign out or the session expires |
tuppence.recent.*, dismissed prompts | Local storage | Remembers the pages you visited recently in the dashboard menu, and prompts you have closed so they don’t come back. | Until you clear your browser’s storage |
tuppence.pos.language, printer addresses | Local storage | On the browser till, the language you chose and the receipt printers you connected. | Until you clear your browser’s storage |
tuppence.country, tuppence.code | Session storage | During sign-up, the country you arrived from and any referral or partner code you followed. | Until you close the tab |
| Booking progress | Session storage | On a booking page, the service and time you picked while you finish booking. | Until you close the tab |
None of this is used to track you across other websites. Booking pages may also show a Cloudflare Turnstile check, which uses its own strictly necessary storage to tell people from bots.
3. Stripe
Card details on Tuppence pay pages are entered into Stripe’s own fields, which Stripe serves from its own domain. Stripe uses cookies and similar technologies in those fields to process the payment securely and to prevent fraud, as a controller in its own right. Stripe explains this in its cookie policy. Stripe and Cloudflare decide what their own cookies and storage do, and we are not responsible for them.
4. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies or storage, you may not be able to sign in to the dashboard or complete a payment.
5. Changes to this policy
If we ever add cookies or analytics to this website, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. This policy is for information: it is not a contract, and it does not create rights or obligations beyond those the law gives you.
6. Contact us
If you have questions about cookies, email contact@tuppence.ai or use our contact page.
