Work out your fees with us.
Put in a month's card sales, your average payment and the share paid on cards issued outside the US. We price it on our price list (v2, from September 24, 2026), the way we charge: a percentage of each payment, rounded up, plus 20¢.

An estimate on your figures, every payment at your average, before sales tax. There's nothing to add for a monthly, PCI, statement or gateway fee: we don't charge them. Compare it with your own statement, or send it to us.
Send us your statement.
A rate on a pricing page rarely tells you what a month really cost. Most of it is in the statement, and statements are hard to read on purpose.
Tiered pricing. Many merchant accounts sort each payment into a tier: qualified, mid-qualified or non-qualified. Only the qualified rate is the one you were quoted. Rewards cards, business cards and payments typed in by hand often land in the dearer tiers, at a rate you never agreed to.
Interchange-plus. The card networks' interchange plus a markup can be fair, but the markup is spread over many lines, with network and assessment fees on top.
Fees every month. A monthly or minimum fee, a PCI compliance fee (or a non-compliance fee), a statement fee and a gateway fee are charged whether you take one payment or a thousand.
Not in a Tuppence bank account.
Money from your card payments is held in your account's balance with our card processor, Stripe, Inc., until it's paid out to your bank. Tuppence never holds it.
Stripe, Inc. holds those funds under its own agreements and the rules that apply to it. Your balance, what's pending and when it pays out are in your dashboard and the app.
More on how we're set up is on our compliance page.
Paid out to your bank by ACH, on a timetable you can see.
Payouts start once we've reviewed your account. New accounts start with limits and a rolling reserve, which ease as you build a clean trading history (see our terms).
Standard payouts: free
Three days after a payment (T+3), or seven (T+7) until your first $1,000 of card payments have cleared, by ACH to your US bank account. A $1 minimum.
Instant payouts
0.99% of the amount, taken from the payout, to pay out your pending balance straight away. Available once your account has a trading history with us.
Moving over, step by step.

Tell us about your business
Your EIN (or SSN for a sole proprietor), your address and ZIP code, and your routing and account number. We verify you before your first payout.
Connect how you sell
Payment links, checkout on your own site, the API, subscriptions or the till. Each one works in test mode first.
Move your payments over
Point your checkout at Tuppence when you're ready. Your old processor keeps paying out what it already holds.
Get a savings review.
Send us a recent statement from your current processor. A person at Tuppence reads it, line by line, and shows you what the same month would have cost with us.
- We compare it with our own price list, with every assumption written down.
- Tiered rates (qualified, mid-qualified and non-qualified), interchange-plus lines, and the monthly, PCI, statement and gateway fees are all read.
- No figure reaches you until a person has checked it.
