Your books, kept up to date by Tuppence.
Connect your accounting software once. Every day, Tuppence posts your sales, fees and refunds, and every payout matches the line your bank feed shows. Nothing to map, no file to import, and it's free.
The accounting software Tuppence connects to.
Connect from Settings › Accounting in the dashboard. One connection per business, changed or paused at any time.
A Tuppence bank account in your books.
It stands for the money Tuppence holds for you. Sales go in, fees and refunds come out, and each payout moves to your real bank account. So its balance is always your Tuppence balance.
Connect in one click
Approve on your accounting software's page. Tuppence makes the Tuppence bank account and picks your sales account, a fees account and the bank account payouts go to.
At most one question
Setup asks only when it can't choose, such as two bank accounts ending in the same four digits. Your accountant can change any default.
Posted every day
After 03:00 each morning, in your time zone: one sales receipt and one payment for fees and refunds, dated the day before.
Reconcile in one click
Each payout is a transfer dated the day it arrives, for exactly what arrived. Your bank feed's line matches it.
Totals by day, not people.
Your customers' names and emails stay with Tuppence. Every document links back to its day in the dashboard.
| Posting | When | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Sales receipt | Each business day | A line for each kind of sale (payment links, online, subscriptions, bookings, in person), plus tips, customer credit and cashback |
| Fees and refunds payment | Each business day | Tuppence fees, refunds, disputes, dispute fees and instant payout fees |
| Payout transfer | The day it reaches your bank | From the Tuppence account to your bank account, for exactly what arrived |
| Opening balance | Once, if you start later | Your balance on the start date, from an account for your accountant to clear |
Sales tax by default
Sales and fees post with no sales tax on the line. Till sales split by the rates the till recorded.
Posted exactly once
Retries and timeouts never post anything twice. A refund that arrives after its day was posted goes in a second posting for that day.
Problems with their fix
An expired connection, a lock date or a currency your books can't hold shows on the Accounting page with the one thing that fixes it.
The statement file.
Using Zoho Books, FreshBooks or something else? Choose Download for your accountant and import your Tuppence money as a bank statement, in CSV or OFX.
- The same postings a connected tool gets, one line each
- Line ids that never change, so importing twice adds nothing
- Also from the API, for your own tools
Invite them in.
Owners and admins connect and change the settings. Invite your accountant as an analyst: they see the Accounting page and download the statement file.
- Every default is one change away
- Lock dates are respected, never asked to be removed
- Test mode shows what would post, without touching real books
