Every business pays to be paid. We think it should cost less, and pay you back: from 0.79% per card payment, and cashback on what you spend with your Tuppence card. And because more and more of the buying is done by software, we built it for developers and AI agents from the first line.
One account to get paid and to spend.
Tuppence is a payments platform built on Stripe. Businesses take card payments through hosted checkout, payment links and subscriptions, and AI products bill for usage from prepaid credit.
The same account issues Tuppence cards — for the team, and for AI agents, with limits and approvals — and pays cashback on what they spend. UK businesses take cards from 0.79%, and earn 0.89% cashback on what they spend with the card.
Everything is an API first: Node and Python SDKs, an MCP server, and a SKILL.md so an agent can learn to use it safely. The dashboard and the iPhone app sit on the same API.
The name is a nod to the humble tuppence: small amounts, handled well, add up to something that matters.
Four things we won’t compromise on.
Right to the penny
Money is whole pence, never floating point. Every fee rounds one way, every rounding is written down, and our ledger is checked against Stripe every night.
Cards stay with Stripe
Card numbers are entered into Stripe and never reach our servers, our logs or our SDKs.
People decide
Agents can start payments and ask to spend. A person approves what matters — on a pay page, or with Face ID on their phone.
Honest pricing
One rate per payment, published in full, from the same price list our fee engine charges. No fixed fee, no monthly fee.
