About Tuppence

Payments should cost less.

Every business pays to be paid. It should cost less: low fees on what you take, paid out by SEPA, and euro cards for what you spend. Built for developers and AI agents.

What we’re building

One account to get paid and to spend.

Tuppence is one account in three parts: Payments, Accounts & cards, and Business tools. Businesses take card payments through checkout (embedded or hosted), payment links and subscriptions, and AI products bill for usage from prepaid credit.

The same account issues Tuppence cards for your team and your AI agents, with limits and approvals. Businesses in the eurozone take cards from 0.9%.

Everything is API first: Node and Python SDKs, an MCP server, and a SKILL.md that teaches agents to use it safely. The dashboard and the iPhone and iPad app use the same API.

The name comes from the tuppence: small amounts, handled well, add up.

How we build

Four principles.

Right to the cent

Money is whole cents, never floating point. Every fee rounds one way, every rounding is recorded, and our ledger is reconciled with our card processor’s records nightly.

Card numbers never reach us

Card numbers go straight from the payer’s browser to our PCI DSS Level 1 card processor. They never reach our servers, logs or SDKs.

People decide

Agents can start payments and ask to spend. A person approves what matters, on a pay page or with Face ID on their phone.

Honest pricing

One rate per payment, published in full, from the same price list our fee engine charges. No fixed fee, no monthly fee.
